Description of the Role

The Operations Analyst is responsible for ensuring successful customer enrollments by actively developing and maintaining solid working relationships with third-party suppliers and utilities through effective verbal and written communication and problem-solving skills. The Operations Analyst will consistently and proactively analyze information that is obtained through our systems, internal/external reporting to recognize patterns, resolve enrollment and billing errors, and facilitate customer lifecycle events. The Operations Analyst will develop a good working knowledge of practices and procedures within the energy industry. The Operations Analyst will make changes to the customer and sales systems, as trained, while documenting systems with appropriate detailed notations.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Actively shop for supplier and utility rates, and maintain a database of current and past rates.
  • Submit and monitor third-party supplier enrollments and utility drop requests.
  • Monitor for third-party supplier and utility rejections and correct rejections continually; communicate identified rejection reasons to Support and/or Sales.
  • Confirm account status, estimated flow date and rate detail is equal to submitted enrollment detail.
  • Process customer bills.
  • Respond to inquiries from Consultants and customers regarding enrollment issues.
  • Perform cost-savings analysis when appropriate.
  • Update customer rates, contact information, and process platform transactions.
  • Communicate enrollment and billing issues to internal and external parties.
  • Utilize analytic skills to resolve inquiries related to enrollments, fulfillment, billing, and sales.
  • Utilize MS Excel and internal report builder to create ad hoc reports and to analyze requested data.
  • Research documents, utility tariffs and regulatory communications for information impacting enrollments and operations.
  • Respond to third-party supplier and utility inquiries.
  • Manage processes related to invoicing, collection activity, payment processing and reporting.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Self-starter interested in contributing to a nimble technology start up
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong ability to multi-task
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Intermediate or above MSOffice proficiency, including MS Word and MS Excel.
  • 1-2 years of utility operations including electricity, gas or telecom experience.
  • 2-3 years of corporate experience.
